KERALA est une construction amateur réalisée sur la base du célèbre plan dessiné par l'architecte américain Nathanael Herreshoff en 1914, que l’architecte Joël White a adapté ce plan en 1985 pour le transformer en dériveur lesté, le « Haven 12 1/2 ».
Il a été construit par son propriétaire actuel au chantier associatif Nautique Sèvres dans l’esprit de la tradition et avec des matériaux nobles comme le chêne l’acajou, l’épicéa et le douglas. L’accastillage en Bronze vient des fonderie « Ballentine's Boat Shop » dans le Maine (Etats-Unis) et certaines ferrures ont été réalisés à Antibes par Pascal Papalia. Il est gréé en houari.

KERALA is an amateur design based on the famous plan drawn up by the American architect Nathanael Herreshoff in 1914. Architect Joël White adapted this plan in 1985 to transform it into a ballasted dinghy, the ‘Haven 12 1/2’.
It was built by its current owner at the Nautique Sèvres boatyard in the spirit of tradition, using noble materials such as oak, mahogany, spruce and Douglas fir. The bronze fittings come from Ballentine’s Boat Shop in Maine (USA) and some of the fittings were made in Antibes by Pascal Papalia. She is rigged in houari.
