INFO – Cyber attack
5 September 2023
On the night of 30 to 31 August 2023, the Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry suffered an attack targeting its entire IT network, demonstrating that cybercrime is now a risk for all businesses.
To protect data and contain the spread of the virus, the entire IT system was shut down.
At the same time, a notification was sent to the CNIL on 31 August, a complaint was lodged with the gendarmerie and the national police on 1 September, and an incident report was sent to the ANSSI, the French National Agency for Information Systems Security. The Centre de Lutte contre les Criminalités Numériques (C3N) is leading the fight against this act of cybercrime, and the J3 cybercrime section of the Paris public prosecutor’s office will be handling the case.
This cyber attack has now been contained by the consular network’s IT Systems Department, with the support of Locksight, a company listed on the cybermalveillance.gouv.fr platform, which is managing the crisis.
The Nice Côte d’Azur CCI teams are doing everything necessary to ensure the continuity of activities in all educational establishments, in the managed ports and with businesses and shops.
It is difficult at this stage to give out more precise information, especially when this information is part of a judicial investigation.
