Recreational fishing: RecFishing launch postponed

Important update for recreational sea fishing: due to technical issues, the EU RecFishing app launch has been postponed. As a result, the registration and reporting obligation planned for 10 January 2026 is suspended until further notice.
At this time, recreational fishers have no steps to complete regarding RecFishing until the official launch date is confirmed.
In the Mediterranean Sea, inside marine parks, the CatchMachine app remains available and reporting obligations still apply for fishers covered by those regulated areas.
