Drought: upgrade to heightened alert

24 July 2026

The municipality of Antibes Juan-les-Pins is now on a heightened drought alert.

The move to a heightened alert level does not alter the restrictions already in place regarding the washing of vessels. We would like to remind you that the washing and rinsing of boats using drinking water remains prohibited for private individuals, regardless of the method used.

In order to conserve water resources, we urge everyone to opt for suitable alternatives, particularly when it comes to washing boats:

  • For boats up to 15 metres in length, the EcoboatWash by Aqualuo washing station remains available. Operating using desalinated seawater, it ensures boats can be cleaned whilst complying with the measures in force.
  • For vessels over 15 metres, specialist service providers offer washing solutions using desalinated water or the provision of desalination units, providing an alternative that complies with current restrictions.

Every little helps. By limiting the use of drinking water where alternatives exist, we can all play our part in conserving this essential resource and tackling the challenges posed by drought.

We would like to thank all our boaters for their commitment and cooperation.
